Spirit soar into semi-finals over FURIA

Spirit are into BLAST Open Porto's semi-finals after smashing FURIA 2-0.
The Russian squad, fresh off winning the Esports World Cup, did not drop a map in the group stage with star man Donk on a 1.62 rating.
He was deadliest on T side, with a 1.86 rating over six maps, and that was true against FURIA as he raced to 17 kills in the first half of Ancient.
Spirit haven't lost Ancient map since March in a run of 13 victories without answer and it was obvious why as FURIA could only muster a cosmetic comeback.
There was hope for Cache to be more competitive, given that Ancient was permabanned for FURIA, but in fact it was even more one-sided.
Donk was barely needed as tN1R led the T side to an 8-2 lead, turning the game with his 1v2 Tec-9 clutch early in the half. He then shut the door in FURIA's face — literally — on CT side to end the map on 97 ADR.
Spirit, having won this seeding match, will now have four days off before resuming their title charge on September 5 in the semi-finals.
