How do I price a freelance AI automation setup? (3 real workflows)

Short version: charge for the outcome, not the hours.

What's working in the market right now (based on workflows shared here):
- Single workflow build: $500–$1,200 (setup + testing + docs)
- Integration-heavy job: $1,500–$2,500
- Monthly retainer: $200–$500 for maintenance, monitoring, changes
- Per-outcome pricing ("you pay when it saves you 10h/month") – riskier, but converts

The pricing mistake most people make: quoting before fully scoping. Spend a day documenting every input, output, and edge case first.
