We've all done it. Game is great, you're near the end, and then... life happens. Or a side quest eats you. Or you just burn out.

Mine is Baldur's Gate 3. Got to the final act, 60+ hours in, started a new playthrough instead of finishing. That was a year ago.

Which game have you just never quite closed out on? No judgment.

BG3 is mine too. 80 hours, got to the final act, got overwhelmed by all the side content, and never went back. This is why I actually like shorter games now — I have a completion complex so 40+ hour games stress me out more than entertain me.

This is exactly why I've been gravitating toward shorter games lately — 12-20 hour experiences feel right when you only have 2-3 hours a week to game. Currently working through Metal Gear Solid Delta and that tight 15 hour runtime feels perfect.
