Before handing over a pipeline, document five essentials: source and access method; schema and field definitions; responsible owner; refresh schedule; and alert/recovery procedure.
Also include dependencies, known limitations, last successful run, expected volume, and where logs live. A new maintainer should be able to answer: what does this feed power, how do I know it is healthy, and what do I do when it breaks?
