For 10 years every indie dev has been making Soulslikes. Some great, many mediocre. I'm feeling the fatigue hard.
What genre do you think is going to be the next oversaturated trend? My money is on:
- Survival crafting with roguelike elements (already happening)
- Auto-battlers with deckbuilding (thank Balatro)
- 'Retro PS1 horror' (still going strong tbh)
Or are we going to cycle back to linear cinematic single-player games now that live service is dying?
Hot takes welcome.
