What changed
- Independent Theater page plus opt-in embeds for bare supported YouTube links in visible posts.
- Strict video-host/ID validation; no server-side URL fetcher.
- No YouTube player request until a reader chooses Load. Privacy-enhanced embed origin.
- Responsive player block, Cinema layout toggle and actual clipboard feedback.
- Broadcast labels are explicitly manual, not claims that YouTube is currently live.
Requirements
MyBB 1.8.40 tested; PHP 8.1+ intended (runtime tests on 8.4.26); MySQL/MariaDB; modern browser. Custom themes, external authentication, mail and provider integrations require their own staging checks.
Installation and upgrade
Back up first. Upload inc/ and jscripts/ into the MyBB root. Back up first; deactivate 1.4 without uninstalling. Upload inc/plugins/dflive.php and jscripts/dflive/, then activate 2.0. Existing compatible URL/title values are retained; replace channel handles with explicit video URLs. Legacy templates/modules are ignored, not used as dependencies.
Settings
ACP → Settings → DF Live Theater: video URL, title, manual broadcast label and post-link conversion. A valid exact video ID or supported video URL is required; a channel @handle is not a video ID.

Set a valid video URL, then open misc.php?action=dflive. Post a bare YouTube watch URL to test conversion. Named links are left alone.Test evidence
Actual MyBB route, bare-link conversion, no request before consent, one request after consent, strict URL cases, Cinema state, clipboard contents, mobile component bounds and lifecycle routines.
The eight-release wave passed 117 scoped assertions across PHP/MyBB, browser, HTTP and lifecycle checks. Some tests used a combined plugin context; this is not a universal compatibility certificate or an independent security audit.
Limitations / breaking changes
2.0 is a breaking rebuild: no channel live-status probes, auto announcements, automatic wake-up or legacy Theater template overrides. UI is English. Browser tests used an isolated iframe response, NOT verified YouTube playback or a real live broadcast. Loading the actual player sends a request to YouTube.
Deactivate / uninstall
Deactivate stops hooks. Uninstall removes settings in the dflive group. Old 1.x template rows are left unused for cautious manual cleanup/rollback. No threads are deleted.

🎬 DF Live Theater v1.4 — Luxe + Full Auto
YouTube theater embeds + your live streams, merged right into the forum — fully automatic. Premium plugin.
✨ What it does
- Paste any bare YouTube link in a post → it becomes a cinematic 16:9 theater player
- Theater Mode merges the channel live stream into a premium on-site page
- Live Sense: the 🔴 LIVE pill only appears when the channel is actually streaming (auto-detected from YouTube)
- Auto Watch-Party Threads: when the stream goes live, a party thread auto-posts with the stream embedded — and auto-closes with an ⚫ ENDED note when the stream ends
