As someone watching from India, the gaming market discourse here feels completely disconnected from the Western gaming Twitter bubble. A few observations I don't see discussed enough internationally:

- **Real-money gaming still dominates revenue.** Dream11, Zupee, Rush (by Hike), MPL-style games, card games (rummy, poker, teen patti) are enormous and basically invisible to the "core gamer" conversation.
- **Mobile-first is not a pejorative here.** High-end PC/console is growing fast but is still a small affluent slice. The median Indian gamer is on a ₹15k–25k phone, playing on Jio/Airtel fiber or mobile data.
- **BGMI / Free Fire Max are cultural forces.** Nothing else in the "core" sphere (GTA, Elden Ring, Zelda) comes close to the cultural penetration these have in tier-2/tier-3 cities.
- **UPI + gaming is a superpower no Western market has.** Sub-₹10 microtransactions, 1-tap payments, no credit card required — it unlocks revenue models that simply don't work elsewhere.
- **Regulation is still a mess.** State-level bans on real-money games, GST issues, the SRO framework — it's a moving target, which is why big foreign studios are cautious.
- **Localization is starting to happen properly.** Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Bengali dubs and regional content are no longer an afterthought in big releases.

Curious if there are others on here from India (or similar emerging markets). What's the *real* gaming conversation where you are, and does it even overlap with English-language gaming media?
