Been running a 4080 since launch and I'm getting the itch. Looking at benchmarks for the 5090 and the DLSS 4 frame generation numbers are nuts, but the card is $2000 and physically massive.

Anyone here upgrade from 40xx to 5090? Worth it for 4K 120hz gaming? Or should I just wait for the 5080 Ti / Super refresh next year?

Mostly playing single-player open world stuff, some competitive CS2/Valorant at 1440p.

Upgraded from a 3080 to a 5090 last month and honestly... if you're on 4080 don't bother. The biggest jump is DLSS 4 but most games don't support it yet and frame gen in competitive games feels off.

Wait for the 5080 Super or jump to next-gen entirely at this point. The value isn't there at $2000.
