Overtrading = paying spread + commission until your edge evaporates. Common fixes:
1. Min interval between trades – a 5–15 min cooldown kills most churn
2. Volatility filter – only trade when volatility is in your sweet spot
3. Daily position limits – hard cap on trades/day; when it hits, stop
4. Commission honesty – backtest WITH fees; a 0.1% "edge" can be pure loss after costs
5. Log every trade – if you can't explain why the bot entered, it's probably noise-chasing
Rule of thumb: fewer, higher-quality trades beats frequent, mediocre ones.
What's your bot's average daily trade count – found by accident or by design?
